From 19-21 September, Barcelona will become the world capital of the specialist area of ophthalmological plastic surgery. Over 400 experts from Europe, USA, Latin America and Asia will be there to discuss the latest features of a specialty which is still young.
Their numbers will include Dr. Nieto, the specialist at the Institut de la Màcula, who says: “the Annual Meeting of the ESOPRS is an unbeatable occasion for sharing knowledge about the most innovative techniques which are being applied, such as the minimally invasive blepharopasty techniques we at the Institut have been employing for some time”.
The scientific programme will include round tables, talks and symposiums, provided by recognised experts in the field from the world’s top centres and institutes. Dr. Nieto will take part as the moderator of a round table on advances in lacrimal surgery, where various European experts will debate the different techniques for solving the problem of watery eye.
The event will also include the presentation of the “ESOPRS Junior Award”, which recognises the best young researcher of 35 years or under. The candidates have had to present an article on basic research in ocular or orbital pathologies, which will be assessed by a jury of five persons. The winner will receive a prize of 3,000 euros.
