Corneal cross-linking

Corneal cross-linking involves applying vitamin B2 drops (riboflavin) under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis. When exposed to a beam of ultraviolet light, it strengthens the cornea of patients with corneal ectasia (keratoconus). The goal is to prevent corneal deformation and preserve visual acuity.
