Kinetic perimetry

Kinetic perimetry is a test that allows rapid and easy determination of the extent of a patient’s visual field. This test enables variation in the size and intensity of the stimulus, allowing adaptation to the visual function of each patient. It helps evaluate the level of involvement and progression of different pathologies such as retinitis pigmentosa or glaucoma, which primarily affect the peripheral visual field. The Octopus 900 perimeter features a Goldmann dome with a 90-degree radius, enabling both full-field tests and additional peripheral tests for any type of pathology.

It is a screening exam in which the patient sits facing the dome, focusing on a central point, and signals the examiner with a button when they detect a light entering their visual field from the periphery. This allows mapping the boundaries of their visual field.
