GENOME: Genotype-phenotype correlation in AMD

DESCRIPTION

Observational, cross-sectional study to determine the relationship between genotype and phenotype in patients with age-related macular degeneration.

Objectives

The primary objective of the study is to determine the relationship between genotype and phenotype in patients with AMD, focusing mainly on genes in the Complement pathway (such as Factor H) and ARMS2.

Procedure:

To this end, a DNA sample will be collected from the buccal cavity of each patient, from which the genetic profile of the genes currently known to be associated with the disease will be determined.

Population

INCLUSION CRITERIA:

  • Men and women aged 50 or older diagnosed with AMD.
  • Patients who provide signed consent prior to any evaluation and expressly agree to the inclusion of data from their medical history, as well as results from their participation in the study, in a personal data file under the responsibility of the Center.

Duration
