1. USER INFORMATION<\/h4>\n

Who is responsible for processing your personal data?<\/h4>\nINSTITUT DE LA M\u00c0CULA I DE LA RETINA, hereinafter the CONTROLLER<\/strong>, informs the USER<\/strong> that it has created profiles on the social networks Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo, and Google+, and is responsible for the processing of the user\u2019s personal data carried out on these platforms. This data will be processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016\/679 of April 27 (GDPR), and Organic Law 3\/2018 of December 5 (LOPDGDD), and the following information about data processing is provided:\n\n

Why do we process your personal data?<\/h4>\nPurpose of the processing<\/strong>: to maintain a relationship between the USER and the CONTROLLER, which may include the following actions:\n

  • Handling requests and inquiries made to the controller<\/li>\n
  • Providing information about activities and events organized by the controller<\/li>\n
  • Providing information about products or services offered by the controller<\/li>\n
  • Interacting through official profiles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

    Why are we allowed to process your personal data?<\/h4>\nLegal basis for the processing: Article 6.1.a of the GDPR, the data subject has given consent for the processing of their personal data for one or more specific purposes. The user has a profile on the same social network and has decided to join the CONTROLLER\u2019s profile, thus showing interest in the information published. Therefore, by requesting to follow our official profiles, you give us consent to process the personal data published on your profile.\n\nThe USER can access the privacy policies of the respective social network at any time and configure their profile to ensure privacy.\n\nThe CONTROLLER has access to and processes the USER’s public information, especially their contact name. This data is only used within the social network and will only be added to a CONTROLLER database when necessary to handle a USER request.\n\n

    How long will we keep your personal data?<\/h4>\nData retention criteria: Data will be retained as long as the USER does not revoke the consent given, as indicated in this privacy policy.\n\n

    To whom do we disclose your personal data?<\/h4>\nData disclosure: The information provided by the USER through the CONTROLLER\u2019s social networks, including personal data, may be publicly visible depending on the services the USER uses and may be accessible to other third-party users of the social networks. From each social network profile, the USER can configure what information to make public, view granted permissions, revoke them, or disable third-party applications.\n\nNo data will be disclosed to third parties outside the social network unless it is strictly necessary to fulfill the purposes of the processing. In such cases, data may be shared with our service providers under confidentiality and data processing agreements as required by privacy regulations.\n\n

    What are your rights?<\/h4>\nRights of the user: These can only be exercised in relation to the information under the control of the CONTROLLER.\n\n

    2. USE OF THE PROFILE<\/h4>\nThe CONTROLLER will perform the following actions:\n
      \n
    • Access public profile information<\/li>\n
    • Publish on the USER\u2019s profile any content already shared on the CONTROLLER\u2019s social network<\/li>\n
    • Send personal and individual messages through the social network\u2019s channels<\/li>\n
    • Post page status updates that will appear on the USER\u2019s profile<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nThe USER can always manage their connections, remove content they no longer find interesting, and restrict who they share connections with by configuring their privacy settings.\n\n

      3. PUBLICATIONS<\/h4>\nOnce the USER becomes a follower or joins the CONTROLLER\u2019s social network, they may post comments, links, images, photos, or any other multimedia content permitted by the platform. The USER must, in all cases, own the content published or have the authorization or consent of the affected third parties.\n\nAny publication on the social network\u2014including text, graphics, photographs, videos, etc.\u2014that may violate or potentially violate morality, ethics, good taste, or decorum, and\/or infringe intellectual or industrial property rights, image rights, or the law is expressly prohibited.\n\nIn such cases, the CONTROLLER reserves the right to immediately remove the content without prior notice and may request the permanent blocking of the USER.\n\nThe CONTROLLER is not responsible for content freely published by a USER.\n\nThe USER should be aware that their posts may be viewed by other users, making them the primary party responsible for their privacy.\n\nImages published on the social network will not be stored in any database by the CONTROLLER but will remain on the social network.\n\n

      4. DATA OF MINORS OR INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS<\/h4>\nMinors under the age of 18 are prohibited from accessing and registering on the CONTROLLER\u2019s social networks. If the USER has special needs, their legal guardian or representative must intervene through a valid document proving legal representation.\n\nThe CONTROLLER is expressly exempt from any liability that may arise from the use of social networks by minors or individuals with special needs. The CONTROLLER\u2019s social networks do not knowingly collect any personal information from minors.
