Jordi Mon\u00e9s, founder of the Institut de la M\u00e0cula, is one of Europe\u2019s leading figures in the research and treatment of both atrophic and exudative AMD. He is an Adjunct Professor at the John A. Moran Eye Center, affiliated with the University of Utah Health (USA). He earned his PhD in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. After specializing in Ophthalmology at C.O. Barraquer (Barcelona), he furthered his training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (Harvard University, USA) and Hospital San Jos\u00e9 (ITESM, Mexico). Over the past 20 years, he has served as principal investigator in most of the major international multicenter clinical trials conducted to develop treatments for all forms of
