The 28th Congress of Optometry, Contactology and Ophthalmic Optics has brought together nearly 1,300 participants in Madrid, most of them opticians-optometrists, considered one of the most important scientific-professional meetings in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cristina Romero, Dani Garcia and M\u00edriam Garcia Planas have brought to the Congress the posters &#8220;Late-onset macular dystrophy&#8221; and &#8220;Impact of type I choroidal neovascularization on the progression of geographic atrophy: multimodal imaging approach&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OPTOM 2024 has addressed, among others, aspects related to basic research, the latest advances in intraocular lenses and myopia control and also the updating of optometric protocols.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The team of optometrists at the Macula Institute has presented two posters at the 2024 Congress on research carried out at home.
