El programa de ensayos cl\u00ednicos del Institut de la M\u00e0cula ofrece la oportunidad de acceder a los tratamientos m\u00e1s innovadores, sin coste para el paciente y con una duraci\u00f3n de entre 1 y 2 a\u00f1os<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b7fda5f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b7fda5f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>El ensayo cl\u00ednico es la \u00fanica v\u00eda de acceso a nuevos f\u00e1rmacos a\u00fan no disponibles en el mercado.<\/strong> Existe un gran n\u00famero de patolog\u00edas oculares que, actualmente, no tienen cura, por lo que la investigaci\u00f3n de nuevas t\u00e9cnicas y f\u00e1rmacos es primordial para confirmar que son eficaces e iniciar el camino para tratar y curar estas enfermedades.<\/p><p>Desde sus or\u00edgenes, el Institut de la M\u00e0cula desarrolla diversos ensayos cl\u00ednicos que permiten investigar tratamientos innovadores o nuevas formas de aplicar los existentes, para curar las enfermedades que todav\u00eda no tienen soluci\u00f3n y rescatar a los pacientes de la p\u00e9rdida grave de visi\u00f3n. Actualmente, el Institut tiene diversos ensayos cl\u00ednicos* en fase de reclutamiento de pacientes afectados por la degeneraci\u00f3n macular asociada a la edad (DMAE), tanto en la variante seca o atr\u00f3fica, como en la h\u00fameda o exudativa.<\/p><p><em>* Ensayos cl\u00ednicos autorizados por la AEMPS y el CEIm Grupo Hospitalario Quir\u00f3nsalud en Barcelona.<\/em><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"color: #003865;\">\u00bfQUI\u00c9N PUEDE PARTICIPAR EN ESTOS ENSAYOS CL\u00cdNICOS?<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p>El acceso de pacientes se define a partir de una <strong>exhaustiva valoraci\u00f3n del perfil del candidato<\/strong> y a partir de la comprobaci\u00f3n de que se cumplen unos <strong>criterios de idoneidad<\/strong> para participar en el estudio y recibir el tratamiento. Adem\u00e1s, esta es, por el momento, la <strong>\u00fanica v\u00eda de acceso a nuevos f\u00e1rmacos a\u00fan no disponibles para la poblaci\u00f3n general<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Los ensayos cl\u00ednicos se realizan seg\u00fan principios <strong>\u00e9ticos y cient\u00edficos estrictos<\/strong>. En el Institut aplicamos las normas y pol\u00edticas nacionales e internacionales para proteger los derechos, la seguridad y el bienestar de las personas que participan en ellos.<\/p><p>Los riesgos por la participaci\u00f3n en un ensayo cl\u00ednico se pueden derivar de la v\u00eda de administraci\u00f3n del medicamento por un lado y de la medicaci\u00f3n por otro. Los riesgos del primero son conocidos y generalmente bajos; los derivados de la medicaci\u00f3n son s\u00f3lo parcialmente conocidos, pero habitualmente leves y delimitados al ojo. Generalmente, ser\u00e1 de entre uno y dos a\u00f1os, como
