Over the years, it is common for facial tissues to lose volume, leading to the appearance of folds and grooves. Today, we have treatments to restore lost volume through the injection of natural fillers, such as hyaluronic acid. These treatments are performed in the clinic and have an almost immediate recovery period. Hyaluronic acid can be applied to most facial areas, including the glabella, nasolabial folds, jawline, lips, and cheekbones.
Another area where hyaluronic acid is particularly useful is around the glasses. Patients with prominent grooves from wearing glasses are good candidates for this treatment. The application of hyaluronic acid effectively fills these grooves, providing a completely natural appearance.
These treatments are not permanent and typically last from six to eighteen months, depending on the product used. If the treatment is unsatisfactory to the patient, hyaluronic acid can be dissolved within hours by applying hyaluronidase.
