Tumors conjuntivals

Tumores-conjuntivales

Conjunctival tumors are those that appear on the conjunctiva, the mucous membrane that lines the inside of the eyelids and extends over the anterior part of the eyeball. These tumors can be benign or malignant, and in some cases may endanger the patient’s vision and life, making appropriate treatment necessary. Conjunctival tumors are often associated with risk factors such as sun exposure and tobacco use, which may contribute to their development.

Symptoms

Conjunctival tumors present as a change in color or texture in a specific area, or as raised areas or lesions on the conjunctiva. Most are asymptomatic, although in some cases they may increase in size and cause irritation and eye discomfort.
