ENGAGE: evaluating the long-term safety and tolerability of JNJ-81201887

DESCRIPTION

Phase IIb extension study for the 5-year follow-up of patients with geographic atrophy secondary to AMD who have previously participated in the PARASOL study with JNJ-81201887.

Objectives

The primary objective is to evaluate the long-term safety and tolerability of JNJ-81201887. Changes in the geographic atrophy lesion, visual function, the retina, quality of life, immunogenicity and viral biodistribution will also be assessed on an exploratory basis.

Drug

FARMAC:

JNJ-81201887 (AAVCAGsCD59) is an investigational gene therapy based on a recombinant adeno-associated virus serotype 2 with a transgene encoding sCD59. The drug is not re-administered in this extension study.

Population

Patients who have previously participated in a parent clinical study with JNJ-81201887 and who received JNJ-81201887 or a sham injection.
